These Broken Stars is the first book in the Starbound Trilogy by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner.

REVIEW

This is an amazingly written book that switches between the two protagonists Lilac and Tarver. It paces very well and I couldn’t put it down. I love that although they come from two different backgrounds, in the end both Lilac and Tarver work together so that they can survive. Lilac comes from a privledged background while Tarver is now in the limelight for his fighting skills on

The setting of the story is beautifully written and I can imagine myself on the spaceliner. as well as the planet they crash land too. I love the woods and I can imagine the cottage that is describe in the book.

The character development of Lilac throughout the book shows how the experience changes her along with how much she begins to care about Tarver. She also changes from a lady who constantly needs to rely on Tarver, to a lady is confident enough to go off alone and collect equipment to help Tarver and her survive. Although Lilac knows how much she cares about Tarver, it isn’t until the worst happens to Lilac does Tarver realise his feelings.

When the truth about her father comes out, Lilac knows she needs to do something and the pair decide that they will do anything for the truth to come to light.

This is a perfect building romance story with enough twists and turns that keeps you hooked.
