REVIEW
I found it intriguing going back to Caraval where it is filled with magic and the game this time round is the most important. It is set only days after Caraval.
The protagonist in this novel is Tella, who is Scarlett’s sister who very much aware of what is in store if she plays the game. She is a strong protagonist, however in moments of weakness we can see her doubting herself and not truely believing that the game is real.
This novel is full of mysteries and deceit, that when you thought you knew all about Caraval, you are wrong and there is much to learn about the game.
Tella is caught between powerful players, one being Legend and one being a Fate, and if she doesn’t hold up the bargain she made she stand to loose everything, including her life.
I enjoyed seeing the development and the struggles in Scarlett and Julian’s relationship as no relationship is perfect as well as seeing Tella changing her feelings towards Dante.
The game this time round focuses on find the truth about Legend and I wasn’t expecting his true identity. I’m looking forward to how the trilogy ends in Finale and how these two couples will come together or fall apart.
